speed, the probability of failing in the staff tablet transfer increases. Thus, it is preferable to change the system of the section to the tokenless blocking system.
4.3.5 Maintenance of station alignment
(1) Improve the alignment of some special stations in which the alignment of a passing main track interrupts high speed passing.
(2) Effective length of refuge track
Refuge station change may occur when a diagram is disordered. It is preferable to increase the effective length of the following station.
Tha Sao (489 km): 302 m
Pang Muang (661 km): 362 m
4.3.6 Tablet transfer
The safety of train operations is secured between Sila At and Chiang Mai by exchanging tablets for each station in which a ball token is used as a tablet. However, because a tablet is transferred between a train driver and a stationmaster, the probability of failing in the transfer rises when a train passes a station at an excessive high speed. Therefore, it is desirable to change the present system used in the above section to a tokenless block system.
